Help Shape Santa Rosa County's Local Mitigation Strategy

Information booth will be available at the August 14 Milton Farmers Market at Turtle Fountain on Elmira Street

Santa Rosa County is updating its Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) and needs community input. This important plan helps identify and reduce risks from both natural and man-made hazards that could affect homes, health, businesses, and other natural resources across Northwest Florida.

What environmental concerns matter most to you?
  • Hurricane Impacts/Wind: Are you concerned about the future storm impacts to our area due to hurricane-force winds?
  • Coastal Resilience: How can we better protect our community from flooding and storm surge?
  • Wildfire: Are you concerned with wildfire damage to your personal property?
  • Extreme Heat/Cold and/or Drought: Do you have concerns about extreme weather events?
  • Erosion: Do you have opinions about how large storm events may cause erosion within our community?

Feedback will guide a community-driven action plan to help reduce future impacts and build a safer, more resilient Santa Rosa County.

An information booth will be available from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, at the Milton Farmers Market at Turtle Fountain, 5203 Elmira Street in Milton. All responses are anonymous. Learn more and share your thoughts: https://engagestantec.com/santa-rosa-county-lms
